The Position
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant with a strong financial background to join our leading international firm and specifically our award-winning Financial Accounting and Outsourcing Services Division. Our Financial Accounting and Outsourcing team support our clients to better run their finance functions, understand their financial position and performance, and to ensure they are compliant with changing accounting and tax legislation. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients across various industries, assisting with all aspects of their accounting lifecycle. This ambitious individual will thrive on working as part of a dynamic team and delivering first in class client services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management and oversight of a team of accounting professionals
* Lead delivery of a portfolio of client engagements
* Develop and maintain long-term client relationships including the development of relationships with team members across all Mazars practices to serve client needs.
* Review of management accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
* Manage and review portfolio of clients for VAT reporting on a bi-monthly/quarterly/annual basis (incl VIES & Interstate)
* Engage with clients during the year to review their accounting system to ensure that the AOS department is receiving better quality information from clients.
* Managing and motivating client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds
* Drive high-quality service delivery within expected timeframes and on budget
* Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
* Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge and possess good business acumen
* Contribute towards department financial objectives for billing, net fee income and cash collection
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA).
* Experience in managing teams ideally within a professional services environment.
* Practice trained accountant, ideally could suit someone who trained in practice and moved to industry and is now looking for a role back in practice.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and interact with people at all levels.
* Strong market focus with ability to identify and build new opportunities and client relationships.
* Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and the team.
* Proven business development skills.
* Ambitious and wants to pursue a long-term career in practice.
