Cloud Platform & DevOps Engineer
The Cloud Platform team design, implement, support, and improve the cloud technology stack to ensure systems security, reliability & availability for 123.ie & RSA Ireland.
We design, deploy & maintain advanced log analysis & monitoring systems; We lead automated, agile based release management to our 24x7 online application stack; We define, maintain, and develop our ci/cd pipelines & deployment automation tools for our release processes. We advise and implement security configuration items and tooling; We automate!
We are looking for a highly competent, reliable, self-starting IT generalist – with experience in a Windows Server administration or SRE role with web application support. You must have strong infrastructure knowledge with great analysis & problem-solving skills - perhaps you’ve also done some scripting or automation work in a previous role or in a part time capacity?

Key Responsibilities :
1. Resolve complex technical issues in infrastructure, applications, platforms & Backoffice systems.
2. Manage and monitor Azure cloud resources, performance, security, and costs using various tools and frameworks.
3. Provide third line of support for issues from the front-line incident managers.
4. Deploy software releases to our Azure based systems using a squad methodology.
5. Be able to clearly think through, communicate & participate in the wider ITS sessions.
6. Be part of an on-call rota as needed.
Attribute and Qualifications
7. 3-5 years’ experience supporting Azure cloud infrastructure.
8. 3+ years’ experience of supporting web application technologies.
9. Excellent knowledge of Azure technologies and the Azure stack
10. This role requires knowledge of all of the following: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, IIS, Windows Server OS
11. Proficiency in PowerShell & Bash
12. Strong IT admin skills, networking and troubleshooting skills.
13. Excellent verbal & written communications skills
14. A can-do attitude & works with minimal oversight with high standards.
15. The ability to prioritise & work in a fast paced, high volume, agile environment.
16. A passion for learning new technologies and improving your skills
Better if you have:
17. Knowledge of Terraform or other declarative languages
18. Experience of operating FinOps models
19. Experience in automating and streamlining a software development lifecycle (SDLC), configuration management etc
20. An ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm & innovation
21. Experience working in a regulated financial entity
22. Experience in working with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
