Cpl has the pleasure of working with a leading Pharma organisation who are currently looking to hire a Global Controller, for their office in North Dublin Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Global Controller to join our Finance team.
This pivotal role requires a strong technical accounting background, the ability to make quick and confident decisions in ambiguous situations, and a relentless commitment to operational excellence.
As the Global Controller, you will lead the global accounting function, policy design standardization and implementation, ensuring accurate financial reporting & compliance, and the execution of critical financial initiatives.
This individual will be responsible for policies, M&A, & integrating our plants in a Medical Technology and acquisitive space This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be joining a leadership team dedicated to driving standardization, a culture of ownership and improvement, and leveraging processes to support an exciting growth model for this $275M business (currently).

Key Responsibilities: Lead Global Accounting: Oversee the global accounting function, including financial reporting, month-end close, consolidation, and audit preparation.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other regional accounting standards.
Ownership of Financial Processes: Own and continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting structures across global entities.
Lead cross-functional collaboration to drive efficient and scalable financial operations.
Technical Accounting Expertise: Provide technical accounting guidance on complex issues.
Interpret and apply accounting standards to resolve questions and guide the business.
Pivot and Make Decisions in Grey Areas: Effectively navigate grey areas and make informed decisions when faced with uncertainty.
Exhibit resilience and the ability to pivot priorities in response to shifting business needs and challenges.
Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of global financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to address financial matters.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business partners, legal, IT, and our third party support (Tax, Audit) to address global accounting challenges, resolve issues quickly, and implement new processes and systems.
Lead and Develop Team: Manage a lean central accounting team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.Central Accounting, Tax, Statutory Reporting, maintaining controls and enforcing structure with a team of 3-4 individuals & outside service firms.Treasury will remain reporting separately to the CFO for the midterm, and a small FP&A team reports to the CFO separately.
Qualifications: Qualified Accountant 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including technical accounting, financial reporting, and leadership roles.
Extensive knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and researching & applying accounting frameworks.
Proven ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations and to pivot quickly when necessary.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive results and foster a culture of grit and ownership.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical accounting issues for non-financial stakeholders.
Experience working in a fast-paced, decision-oriented environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Experience with implementing financial policies and automation is a plus.
