We are recruiting a Capital Projects Manager to join our engineering team in Carrigtwohill, Cork. This position reports to our Engineering Manager. This is an 18-month Fixed Term Contract. The role is varied, and you will be responsible for ensuring that capital projects program is executed. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with other site functions and other engineering personnel both local and global to ensure capital project are delivered on time and in full.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Establish with the Engineering Manager the department goals, schedules and timetables for project activities.
* Project management of the execution of capital engineering projects within the site, following the Abbvie Project Lifecycle approach (typical project value range: anything up to €5 million or larger).
* Implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement.
* Develop monthly engineering metrics and provide management reports in a timely manner.
* Ensure relevant budgets are within target and prepare capital expenditure requests for plant as required.
* Ensure successful external, Division and Corporate audits.
* Ensure safety standards are met, and safe working practices adhered to.
* Manage internal and external plant projects as needed.
* Supervise and manage relationship with external contractors and vendors.
* Negotiation and management of external contracts and contractors.
* Prepare and present site Capex Long Range Plan (LRP) to Global Engineering leadership.
* Manage cross-functional teams from other departments to deliver the site capital project portfolio.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant discipline.
* Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Project Manager.
* Prior experience in an Oral Solid Dose pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, particularly within the Engineering Department, is required.
* High level of attention to detail and mental concentration, to ensure accuracy and total compliance with procedures.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make prompt decisions on engineering.
