Requirements:
* Must have permission to work in Ireland without restriction.
* Be able to provide 2 satisfactory references.
* Garda Vetting will be carried out prior to commencement.
* QQI Level 5 Certification in Care Skills & Care of the Older Person or the equivalent as a minimum.
The Health Care Assistant will:
* Assist in delivering a high standard of person-centred care to clients always promoting their privacy and dignity.
* Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living following their Care Plan e.g. washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining, and all other aspects of daily living.
* Act as the named carer for specific clients as allocated by Management.
* Respect the privacy and dignity of all clients and promote their independence.
* Ensure all clients' living areas are left neat and presentable for clients.
* Contribute to the moving of clients to maximise physical comfort, utilising manual handling techniques.
* Provide appropriate intimate care for clients in accordance with their care plans and in accordance with Hibernia Home Care’s policy and procedure.
* Observe care plans and alert Supervisor/Care coordinator regarding any changes in the physical and mental state of the client.
* Report immediately any incident or potential incident which may compromise the health and safety of the client.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for the clients.
* Communicate with all clients and their relatives/representatives.
* Know all clients by name.
