We have some fantastic opportunities for Scientists to join our Bioanalytical team in Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to carry out scientific test procedures on client samples and produce accurate results within an acceptable time frame using company procedures. This person will also be responsible for the completion of more technically challenging analyses and for developing any ancillary procedures associated with the methods and technical systems used, ensuring customer samples are completed within their required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Support complex analytical testing and high knowledge projects by performing additional duties or functions (e.g., data review) that will be commensurate with your training and skillset.
* Carry out non-routine tasks in the laboratory or specific types of analysis assigned, backfilling for analysts as required.
* Develop and validate new tests and procedures for the company and clients.
* Complete specific technological projects and write up results accurately, confidentially, and on time for clients.
* Sign all technical documents once training is successfully completed, including laboratory reports, SOPs, protocols, and investigation reports.
* Sign out customer work from the analysts.
* Deputise for management as required.
* Keep the laboratory area clean and tidy in both ‘seen’ and ‘unseen’ areas.
* Provide cover for other staff members as required and participate in the company’s weekend rota and/or overtime schedule.
* Ensure all documentation is completed on time, accurately, and legibly.
* Maintain training records and initiate training when possible.
* Update any relevant documentation as required.
* Communicate directly with clients in an appropriate manner.
* Liaise closely with the Section Manager to ensure resources are available to complete testing activities to customer timelines.
* Continuously liaise with management, customers, and other members of the organization on relevant problem areas or enhancements to the business.
* Adhere to all company standards in safety, housekeeping, and quality, notifying management of discrepancies.
* Ensure customer requirements are fully met and be flexible to work in any area of the business as required.
* Identify opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the team to implement continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Experience
Degree in a related Scientific discipline.
5 - 7 years of experience in HPLC, CE, SDS Page, IEF & Method Validation.
