The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery and mechanical systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance fitter to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment.
* Diagnose mechanical issues and perform troubleshooting to identify causes of malfunctions.
* Perform maintenance tasks on various systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies while performing tasks.
* Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve technical issues and improve machinery performance.
* Document maintenance activities, including repairs, modifications, and inspections.
* Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring production schedules are met.
* Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
* Adhere to maintenance schedules and timelines to ensure the smooth running of operations.
* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as required.
* Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the maintenance workshop and work areas.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Essential:
o Trade qualification as a Maintenance Fitter (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
o Proven experience (2+ years) in a maintenance fitter role, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
o Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
o Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
o Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to high standards.
o Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Desirable:
o Experience with welding, fabrication, or CNC machinery.
o Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and basic control systems.
o A current valid forklift license or other relevant certifications.
o Full driving license.
