They are seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Customer Support Manager for their team in West Dublin.
The Role: We are currently seeking a HGV Mechanic to join our team in Dublin on a fulltime permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance, and servicing on a wide range of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), including refuse collection vehicles (RCVs), hook loaders, chain skip loaders, as well as artic and rigid curtain-siders.
Responsibilities: Carry out routine servicing and repairs on HGVs, including work on engines, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, and specialist equipment such as packing systems, lifting gear, and weighing systems.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults and perform necessary repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic vehicle components.
Prepare vehicles for CVRT and LOLER tests, as well as 13-week inspections, ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory standards.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical or system issues to maintain vehicle performance and operational readiness.
Replace worn or damaged parts, including tyres, brakes, steering components, and other essential systems.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure all vehicles meet legal and safety requirements.
Keep accurate records of all work completed, including inspections, repairs, and parts used, in line with company policies and legal obligations.
Collaborate with the workshop team and external contractors to prioritise workloads and minimise vehicle downtime.
Respond to roadside breakdowns when required, providing timely assistance.
Follow health and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
The Person: Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or similar role, with hands-on expertise in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
Relevant mechanical qualifications (QQI or equivalent).
Comprehensive understanding of HGV systems, engines, and diagnostics.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience with diagnostic equipment and maintenance tools.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations within a mechanical workshop.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to work independently or collaboratively.
Full driving licence (HGV licence preferred but not mandatory).
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
