Our waste-to-energy facility in Meath is the first of its kind on the island of Ireland. We process over 220,000t of residual waste each year and produce electricity to power 22,000 homes annually.
As TWM Waste Operative (WO), you'll be a member of Indaver's Total Waste Management Team based on the Servier site in Money Little, Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Handle the in-house pick-up of diverse waste at the site and bring this to a central location (waste handling room).
2. Carry out loading and unloading activities.
3. Treat the waste so that it can be further transported to the processing facility: sorting, packing, bulking, repackaging.
4. Manage the identification and storage of the waste in accordance with the prevailing regulations.
5. Responsible for the planning and registration of waste removal such that the processing takes place according to agreements with the customer.
6. Handle the administration such that the transport can take place properly and on time.
7. Comply with safety procedures and instructions in order to ensure a safe workplace for all.
8. Keep the workplace orderly & neat so that work can be done safely.
Experience Required
1. Leaving cert or equivalent 1-2 years experience in waste management or relevant waste experience in Pharma/Production Petro-Chemical environments.
2. Hazardous Waste Management or Environmental knowledge an advantage.
3. Forklift license / Safe Pass / Manual Handling an advantage.
4. Be able to work well on your own or as part of a team.
5. Attention to detail is important / Accuracy Good communication skills.
