SME Data Governance
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid – 3 days in Dublin per week)
The Role
As a SME Data Governance you will be responsible for formulating the data governance strategy based on the business and regulatory requirements. In this role you will also implement strategy with a focus on reviewing, maintaining, and implementing industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Understanding business requirements relating to business data sources with the ability to integrate it and/or transform it effectively in accordance with business needs.
* Defining Data Governance Policy with particular focus on Azure Cloud.
* Outlining and promoting a Data Governance and Stewardship model.
* Establishing data catalogues and identifying critical data to support future data migrations and current projects in Azure.
* Conducting data quality assessments and reporting to highlight issues in advance of migration to Azure and in current Azure projects.
* Promote the need for data architecture discipline and practice.
* Support the Data Governance in recommending data architecture patterns.
* Design, develop and deploy the migration of existing on-premises solutions to Azure environments.
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
* Extensive relevant experience in a similar environment.
* Significant experience in Software Development and Agile.
* Experience in building the business case for Data Governance & Quality and managing stakeholders involved.
* Able to perform Elicitation of needs.
* Significant experience in Drafting and agreeing Data Governance Policy.
* Significant experience in establishing the Data Governance Office and Data Governance Operating Models including Stewardship in Enterprises.
* Extensive knowledge of MDM.
* Experience in using Data Governance Tools.
* Extensive Data Governance & Quality experience in the following:
o Creating data catalogues.
o Identifying Critical Data Elements.
o Recording data quality business rules.
o Carrying out data quality assessments.
o Creating data quality assessment scripts & ETLs.
* Capacity to create data quality reports.
* Extensive experience of data architecture design patterns for Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics.
Candidates should hold appropriate RTWs for Ireland i.e. Stamp 1G, Stamp 4, Irish/British/EU passport.
