Job Opportunity: Social Care Manager for Children's Mainstream Residential and Aftercare Service

About the Role
* Lead and inspire a team while ensuring quality care for service users.
* Create a safe and nurturing environment for children, focusing on their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
* Implement individual care plans, considering unique needs and circumstances.
* Collaborate with staff for consistent care delivery.
* Monitor and supervise children, responding effectively to behavioural or emotional issues.
* Maintain accurate records of progress, development, and incidents.
* Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
* Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and collaborate with professionals for comprehensive care.
* Support educational activities and address learning or behavioural challenges.
* Organise recreational and social activities, fostering a positive and inclusive community.
* Handle crises and emergencies, following established protocols and collaborating with external agencies.
Requirements
* The centre manager must have minimum QQI level 7 qualification in social care and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting.
* Alternatively, the manager may hold a QQI level 8 qualification in social care with 4 years' post-qualification work experience in a social care setting.
* A professional qualification is Social Work is also considered as suitable, for a centre manager with the requisite 4 years post-qualification practice experience and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting.
