Job Title: Senior Production Unit Operations ManagerReporting to: Production DirectorWork Mode: Onsite, GalwayJob Purpose: Lead the Production Unit Organization to achieve excellence in People, Quality, Customer Service, and Cost goals. Collaborate closely with peers to align on strategic plans and ensure goals are met while upholding site behavioural standards and company values.This Production Unit plays a pivotal role in our global supply chain, producing critical polymer components using advanced processes such as multilayer micro-extrusion, injection over moulding, and precision balloon forming to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Production Unit in collaboration with Engineering and Quality Managers.Drive Lean initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, while reducing waste and optimizing efficiencies.Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Quality, and Production Planning to optimize departmental performance and foster employee engagement and communication.Manage staffing levels, schedules, and resources, and cultivate cross-functional team relationships to resolve technical issues.Establish clear accountabilities to motivate and develop staff through personal growth and continuous learning.Monitor department budgets and allocate resources to meet customer service targets and optimize procurement costs.Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives across all department levels.Foster a culture of innovation and encourage employees to achieve new milestones.Ensure strict adherence to regulatory and quality standards in all department activities.Proactively identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance and product integrity.Utilize available tools and resources to meet customer production requirements based on sales forecasts.Drive functional excellence initiatives to deliver high-quality results aligned with business objectives.Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems, ensuring appropriate specifications.Skills:Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.Strong operational excellence and lean thinking with a systems mindset.Experienced in change management and cultivating organizational culture.Demonstrated business acumen and organizational awareness.Proficient in manufacturing line layout, flow optimization, and project management.Strategic and critical thinker with supply chain and capacity planning expertise.Competent in financial management and budget oversight.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/engineering field; master’s preferred.Minimum 8-10+ years of experience in operations.At least 5 years in a leadership role.
