Position: Databricks Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to actively develop and scale the strategic data platform on the Azure Cloud Platform.
Initially, focus on the establishment of a reference data system for securities and pricing data, expanding to include other data domains.
Contribute to the overall Data Strategy by adhering to internal development standards and practices.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines, storage solutions, and data services within Azure.
Work with cloud-native tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, and Azure Databricks to build efficient and reliable data processing workflows.
Develop and manage APIs and integrate them into the platform, using frameworks such as FastAPI.
Apply your expertise in Azure cloud services to deliver data solutions, ensuring best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure alignment on business needs and data requirements.
Continuously optimize and improve data architecture and engineering practices to support the evolving business needs.
Must-Have Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Python and PySpark.
Proven experience as a Data Engineer with in-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud services and associated tools.
Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, Azure Databases, Azure Functions, Azure Data Fabric, and Azure API Gateway management.
Well-versed in using Azure Databricks for data engineering tasks.
Strong expertise in SQL, with hands-on experience working with both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
Experience in developing APIs using frameworks like FastAPI or similar Python-based frameworks.
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and best practices.
Proficient with DevOps tools and CI/CD processes (e.g., Git, Jenkins).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
Good-to-Have Qualifications:
Experience in the financial services industry, with a solid understanding of financial instruments, asset classes, and market data.
Familiarity with data governance and security standards in cloud environments.
Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerization technologies.
Experience with machine learning frameworks and integrating them into data pipelines.
