What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
Accountabilities
1. Extensive experience owning all technical aspects of large-scale program implementations in a matrixed environment.
2. Deep expertise with multiple development languages and paradigms including Java, Kotlin, REST/SOAP APIs, microservices is required.
3. Experience required with eCommerce technologies such as Coveo, Adobe product suite, & HCL Commerce.
4. Ability to provide technical oversight specific to custom products, package software, and SaaS applications.
5. Experience in integration architecture and patterns including integration via APIs and services is required.
6. Working knowledge of order-to-cash and eCommerce processes and concepts is required.
7. Regular assessment of current technology landscapes and provide recommendations based on best practices in the industry and digital customer experience trends.
8. Contribute to the definition of technical standards and frameworks.
9. Partner with Enterprise Architecture and IT Leadership on selecting the appropriate solution components that align with company standards while also meeting the requirements of the program.
10. Experience partnering with risk and security and other shared service teams to implement systems that are secure, reliable, and resilient.
11. Experiences applied to technical refresh projects, strategic build projects, and continuous delivery product model execution.
12. Experience with scaled Agile frameworks and other large program methodologies is required; this role will consult on product-centric and Agile best practices.
13. Brings wealth of knowledge to provide guidance on infrastructure, cloud maintenance, software development best practices, DevSecOps, test automation, etc.
14. Participate in root cause analysis sessions with support teams.
15. Ability to apply Event Driven Architecture, Domain Driven Design, and other cutting edge architectural standards for designing enterprise solutions.
16. Grow and foster relationships across Med and Pharma, servicing as central point of contact across businesses to help solve complex business problems.
17. Strong healthcare supply chain knowledge preferred.
Qualifications
18. Bachelors and Advanced Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
19. 8+ years’ experience in related field preferred
20. Expert knowledge on various technology domains and end-to-end application architectures preferred
21. Experience with Java and application framework and coding standards
22. Direct experience in large, technically complex solutions
23. Experience with custom-built eCommerce solutions, with integrations to SaaS and packaged software solutions
24. Experience with integration solutions
25. Business Requirements and testing scenario experience
