Description We are seeking a dedicated Portfolio Analyst to join our team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the Underwriting function at AXA Ireland to achieve its financial targets. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you will be doing: Assist Underwriting Management in executing tasks for assigned accounts as part of the annual objective-setting process. Prepare monthly underwriting reports, including KPIs, business mix, underwriting footprint, profitability packs, quality and control metrics, referrals, and discounting. Collaborate with Department Management to identify solutions for issues and areas requiring further analysis. Respond promptly and effectively to queries following the production of management information (MI) and relevant reports. Support and lead the delivery of reports that recommend actions to address underperformance against established plans. Provide analytical support for key managerial projects. Ensure exceptional customer service delivery. Manage time and resources efficiently to meet objectives. Participate in departmental and cross-functional projects as required. Adapt to undertake additional duties and engage in designated projects, including cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications Proven experience in an analytical role with a track record of successful delivery. A completed degree in business or IT is essential. APA and CIP qualifications are desirable. Solid understanding of relevant insurance business classes. Experience using R, SAS, SQL or other programming languages/statistical software desirable Previous data analysis experience is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail. Highly effective planning and organizational skills, enabling you to meet objectives consistently. Self-motivated with a strong sense of drive, enthusiasm, and commitment. Ability to thrive under pressure in a team-oriented environment. Flexible and adaptable in the face of new challenges. Excellent written and numerical skills are required. Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with well-developed PC skills.
