Oliver James is keen to speak with ambitious financial Accountants with strong technical accounting experience to join our clients Financial Reporting team on a 12 month fixed term contract as a Technical Accountant. This position will support the Financial Reporting function and advancing the firms finance strategy.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform various financial reporting activities (including statutory reporting, financial data analysis, and review) to meet business, commercial, and regulatory standards.
2. Provide expert accountancy and commercial advice to a diverse group of stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making.
3. Ensure robust, efficient operational finance processes and controls, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
4. Support both external and internal audit processes.
5. Collaborate with other teams (including cross-jurisdictional partners) to promote effective teamwork, coverage, and alignment with best practices.
6. Engage in and support finance-related projects across the team.
7. Represent Finance in governance forums for key projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
8. Define and deliver business readiness criteria for critical projects.
9. Facilitate training and engagement to ensure the Finance team is well-prepared for project-related changes.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) and must have a sound understanding of the insurance industry. You will also have strong communication skills and be a self-starter.
