Senior Automation Engineer Role

The Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for implementing efficient automation solutions for Isolator projects, meeting client requirements. This role encompasses the full end-to-end delivery of the automation component of projects, including all documents and code, in compliance with GAMP-V processes.

This position will lead the standardization of software and documentation, ensuring consistency across projects.

Key Responsibilities
">
">
* Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, sales teams, and technical personnel, to define project requirements.
">
* Specify, design, install, test, and commission new equipment as needed.
">
* Develop and program machine-oriented visualizations and cross-machine SCADA systems in the pharmaceutical industry.
">
* Write and modify PLC software for new projects and support existing software on clients' sites.
">
* Create and design required design documents, such as Instrument Schedules (IS), FDS, SDS, HDS, and input into electrical design.
">
* Manage specifications, design, purchasing of equipment, interpreting electrical schematics, overseeing project builds within budget and allocated time, commissioning, and handover.
">
* Work with the sales team to deliver competitive solutions to the industry, as directed by the Manager.
">
* Ensure a safe, healthy, ethically, and environmentally responsible workplace and business.
">
* Manage Automation Variation Change Requests (VCR) with clients where scope deviates from 'as sold' specification.
">
* Manage procurement of long-lead items for projects with the procurement team to meet project timelines.
">
* Manage Factory and Site Acceptance Testing protocols and execution (FAT/SAT).
">
* Provide after-sales support for existing equipment.
">
* Travel to client sites as required for commissioning.

Requirements
">
">
* 7+ years of experience in Automation Engineering.
">
* Competent working with technical and electrical drawings and specifications.
">
* Strong project management skills, with proven problem-solving skills.
">
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
">
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
">
* Multitask ability to work with several projects at a time.
">
* Experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in the Life Sciences industry.
">

Education/Training
">
">
* Level 8 Degree in Computer Science, Controls, and Automation, or equivalent with relevant experience.
">
* Experience in Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC programming and HMI/SCADA systems.
">
* Knowledge of EU-ATEX & US HazLoc Guidelines an advantage.
">
* Knowledge of communications protocols and networking, such as Profinet, Ethernet IP, ModBus, Profibus, a distinct advantage.
