Job Title: Team Leader
About the Role
The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical activities of the screening programme, ensuring robust failsafe processes, screening and grading capacity, management of service staff, and oversight of workforce training, accreditation, and competency.
This involves working with and across a wide range of stakeholder organisations to ensure the programme is delivered in line with national standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee the delivery of the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme(s)
* Ensure compliance with national standards and guidelines
* Lead and manage a team of service staff
* Oversight of workforce training, accreditation, and competency
* Strategic and operational management of the programme
Requirements
* Experience in the optical field
* Management experience
* Minimum of Leaving Certificate or equivalent
* At least 2 years' experience in Diabetic Retinopathy Screening and Grading
Desirable Skills
* Strong management and leadership skills
* Experience of working within diabetic eye screening, healthcare, or other people/patient-focused services
* Ability to use good effective communication skills both written and oral
* IT literate with experience of using bespoke screening database software
* A knowledge of information governance
