The Role: The App Development/Testing Specialist will be responsible for the testing and maintenance of all product calculation tools across new and existing protection, pensions and investment products. They will also be responsible for our tools and apps that facilitate integration between our Advice Support unit and our core system providers. Reporting to the Actuarial Operations Manager, they will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver key strategic objectives the for the business. This role is seen as critical to ensure the continued success of the companys growth ambitions. Key accountabilities will include: Advice Support Unit (ASU) Tools & Apps: Build and manage relevant tools and apps to facilitate the integration of the Advice Support Unit. Automation and streamlining processes/tools. Engage with the ASU and other relevant stakeholders to drive changes and improvements in tools and apps. Ensure the stability of the tools and apps through ongoing maintenance and checking of same. Working across the organisation and with partners, identify opportunities for developments and improvements to these tools and apps. Actuarial Calculation Tools: Build and manage relevant calculation tools to facilitate the end-to-end testing of Saol Assurances administration system. Engage with the Head of Product and Head of Pricing to drive changes and improvements to calculation tools for new launches and changes to existing products. Ensure the stability of the calculation tools through ongoing maintenance and governance Working across the organisation and with partners, identify opportunities for developments and improvements to these calculation tools Actuarial Operations: Answering advisor queries on product features and pricing. Overseeing monthly/quarterly reinsurance settlement. Manual disclosure and premium calculations. Interaction with external vendors on manual queries and calculation issues. Data analysis into trends across ASU, Pricing and Actuarial. Does this sound like something that you want to be part of? You will need to show us that you have: Financial Analysis and Coding background with experience within financial services. Understanding of Protection, Investment and Pension products would be beneficial Experience building VBA and other computing language Familiarity with APIs beneficial Experience in managing and building relationships. Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver large initiatives to tight timelines Model development experience with an understanding of coding standards and best practice.
