We are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a large Road Development project in Roscommon. The successful candidates must be self-motivated, hard working with a ‘hands-on’ approach to work. Possess a strong and flexible work ethic to support the needs of the business.
As our successful candidate you will be competent in the following areas:
Core Day-to-Day Duties:
1. Advise on contractual matters – general and project level.
2. Process contractual claims and all associated records.
3. Look for opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce cost and identify and investigate losses.
4. Assist with project cash management.
5. Advise and support with project correspondence.
6. Negotiate and agree subcontractors.
7. Negotiating subcontract and suppliers’ prices and terms.
8. Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
9. Ensure timely drafting of commercial/contractual correspondence.
10. Prepare subcontract and suppliers documents.
11. Prepare and review monthly cost reports.
12. Ensure Risk Registers, variation trackers and extension of time tracker sheets are reviewed and updated monthly and included within monthly reports.
13. Negotiating subcontractors and suppliers final accounts.
14. Variations: Measurement and pricing.
15. Variations: Negotiate with client, quantity surveyor and subcontractor.
Essential Skills/Competencies:
1. Professional Qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
2. 10+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on construction projects.
3. Ability to work on large scale, high headcount construction sites & sub-contractors essential.
4. Liaise with Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager when dealing with internal stakeholders and client’s representatives while on site including attendance at meetings.
5. Strong time management skills.
6. Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
7. Strong understanding of the construction industry in Ireland or UK.
