Morgan McKinley is working with a growing Insurance Firm in Dublin who is looking for a Project Manager to join their team and has the ability to implement projects in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
The Project Manager is a key role within a growing Insurance firm. You will work to drive projects and initiatives that support business processes currently and in the future, liaising with their Tech teams and users across business units to thoroughly understand requirements and convert them into effective and efficient projects that deliver on-time and to budget.
As a liaison between business and technical functions, you will be responsible for translating and communicating across the organisation to ensure we deliver projects and programmes of work to the highest standards in a regulated environment. The key initial project will be to manage the end-to-end design and implementation. The successful candidate will not only bring core PM skills but is expected to possess a good level of technical knowledge and ideally an understanding of the Claims domain, allowing them to proactively contribute to the design of the operating model and challenge assumptions throughout the project.
Main Responsibilities
* Plan and develop the project from ideation through to implementation.
* Work within an agile team ensuring overall project delivery in an agile working environment.
* Monitor project progress, review user stories and acceptance criteria, set deadlines, investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations for improvements to project processes.
* Work closely with other software development teams (internal and external), tech architects, and business owners to refine requirements and translate business needs into IT solutions.
* Liaise with management across the business to ensure continuous improvement and implementation of best practices.
* Effectively document and surface relevant information.
* Remove blockers to ensure project success proactively.
* Manage risks, issues, deadlines, and dependencies, and present up-to-date status reports as needed.
* Work with the Infrastructure team (and other teams as needed) to ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are known and properly supported.
* Create a supportive and rewarding working environment that aligns with the company culture.
* Monitor efficiency of resource use and team productivity.
* Develop a thorough understanding of our industry and our products and services.
* Regular progress reporting, defining and reporting KPIs and key objective/result metrics.
* Keep stakeholders up to date on all activities that affect their individual goals.
* Continual focus on long-term effectiveness, simplicity of solutions, and appropriate controls.
* Estimate projects and tasks, working closely with technical and business teams as needed.
* Ensure the quality of any third-party deliveries against requirements.
* Act as an authoritative voice-of-customer representative as needed.
* Support recruiting, mentoring, developing, inspiring, and retaining great people for your team.
* Expert at budget & effort management and reporting, tracking team costs, cost of work-packages, efficiency, and work in progress.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* 8+ years of demonstrable PM experience within a regulated environment.
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
* Knowledge of Claims & Underwriting processes is an advantage.
* Ability to implement projects and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Perform detailed and critical analysis of various parts of our ecosystem as required.
* Foresee and communicate potential problems before they arise.
* Strong customer service mentality with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong motivational and people skills.
* Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
* Clear ability to run and manage processes efficiently.
* Able to deliver objectives assigned with a strong sense of urgency.
* Maintain a high bar of quality and pride in doing work well.
* Passionate about building high-quality systems with meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to follow and improve processes.
