As a key member of our Operations team in Ballina, the Associate Engineer - Controls plays a vital role in ensuring the profitability, continuity, and growth of Hollister Incorporated.
The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with Global Engineering, Research and Development, and Quality Assurance to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
The position requires a primary degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent, along with knowledge and experience in industrial control systems, PLCs, HMI, SCADA, process control, motion control, robotics, vision systems, and vision lighting.
The Associate Controls Engineer Role involves providing technical support in the day-to-day operation of assigned manufacturing processes, troubleshooting problems, implementing corrective measures, and proposing preventative measures.
In addition, the role requires developing, tracking, and communicating project plans for all control tasks, equipment qualification, design and implementation of testing protocols, safety/risk assessments, and education requirements.

Responsibilities:
* Process Support:
o Provide technical support in the day-to-day operation of assigned manufacturing processes.
o Troubleshoot problems encountered in the daily operation of equipment.
o Implement corrective measures to machine issues and propose preventative measures to prevent re-occurrence.
o Communicate the path forward toward resolution to value stream technical support staff.
o Occasionally involve out of hours support.
* Project Support:
o Develop, track, and communicate project plans for all control tasks in assigned projects.
o Evaluate and ensure compliance to quality standards through execution of protocols.
o Design and implement testing protocols for new machines, testing vendor code and logic against user requirement specifications.
o Safety/Risk Assessments: Responsible for ensuring safety compliance of control hardware/software, and supporting timely closeout of risk assessments.
Education Requirements:
Primary degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
* Industrial control systems.
* PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, Schneider, Omron).
* HMI (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Windows-based HMI solutions).
* SCADA.
* Process control including temperature and pressure monitoring and control.
* Motion control.
* Robotics.
* Vision systems.
* Vision lighting.
