We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Supply Planner within our Beddingteam to help support our International Spring business. As a Supply Planner you will have the opportunity to manage material requirements and work with stakeholders across the supply chain. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring optimal service levels and working capital and cost performance. The team you will be working with is dynamic and enthusiastic, and values process improvement.
So, what will you be doing as a Supply Planner?
1. Develop material requirements plan based on the works orders required to meet the demand plan.
2. Work closely with production and customer service to ensure all internal customer requirements are satisfied.
3. Place orders with suppliers and manage all correspondence with suppliers for order management.
4. Check on status of orders to ensure on plan and take any corrective action as necessary to ensure supply on time and in full.
5. Manage the system to ensure orders, inventory, and invoice accuracy through Bills of Materials.
6. Maintain multiple suppliers for competitiveness and security of supply.
7. Be the main point of communication for all issues related to materials.
8. Lead the periodic stock takes and cycle counting processes to ensure required levels of accuracy.
9. Ensure no stockouts and materials managed within agreed limits.
10. Work with production and logistics to ensure no materials become aged or obsolete.
11. Ensure the most competitive market prices are realized.
12. Maintain KPIs on materials management and supplier performance.
13. Drive continuous improvement withing materials management.
14. Any additional duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
15. 3-5 years of planning experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
16. Understanding of demand, supply, inventory and planning dynamics and concepts such as MRP, JIT, lean, and theory of constraints.
17. Good level of English and Mathematics.
18. High degree of computer literacy.
19. Microsoft Excel use of functions and some model building.
20. APICS or similar qualification desired.
