Responsibilities
:
1. Implement and maintain the company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
2. Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to management, safety representatives, and employees, including sub-contractors where applicable.
3. Ensure adherence to all Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions and legislation.
4. Promote and enforce best practices in safety management across the site.
5. Lead Health & Safety training initiatives, including site inductions for new employees and sub-contractors.
6. Oversee the creation and review of task-specific EHS documents, such as method statements, risk assessments, safe work plans, and work permits.
7. Conduct regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings to both site and senior management, with a focus on immediate follow-up action.
8. Ensure that all incidents are reported, thoroughly investigated, and that lessons learned are communicated effectively. Ensure notifications are made to the Directors, Health & Safety Authority, and insurers as required.
9. Manage and record safety interventions, proactively addressing project EHS needs.
10. Perform administrative tasks to maintain EHS Management systems, including the upkeep of registers, records, and monthly reports, and presenting updates to management as needed.
11. Assist site management in drafting and communicating EHS initiatives and leading Toolbox Talks.
12. Gather and prepare relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File for handover to the client upon project completion.
13. Foster a workplace culture focused on health, safety, and incident prevention.
Requirements:
14. A relevant third-level qualification in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
15. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
16. Experience working on large-scale projects.
17. A full, clean driving license.
18. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
19. Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
20. Proven ability to build strong working relationships and manage stakeholder interactions effectively.
Package:
21. Competitive salary ranging from €55K to €65K (negotiable based on experience).
