Legal consultant - Compulsory Purchase Orders
Johnson Hana is seeking to hire Legal Consultants - Compulsory Purchase Orders for upcoming projects with multiple Irish based companies. These projects will range from 9-10 months in length and there is a strong potential for the projects to be extended beyond this timeframe. These projects are on a contract basis, up to 35 hours per week.
The consultant will play a key role in supporting the companies Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) process, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all documentation and procedural requirements. The role involves reviewing, drafting, and managing critical CPO-related documents and liaising with internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution. The consultant will work closely with the Infrastructure Delivery team, ensuring that all CPO processes align with legal and regulatory frameworks. This includes preparing and managing essential documentation such as:
* CPO Orders
* CEO Orders
* Notices for Service on Landowners
* Public Notices
* Notices to Treat
* Notices of Entry
Project responsibilities:
* Document Review & Drafting – Prepare and review CPO-related documents with accuracy and compliance.
* Regulatory Compliance – Ensure all documentation aligns with legal frameworks and best practices.
* Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with the Infrastructure Delivery team, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required.
* Process Coordination – Support the execution of CPO processes, ensuring timelines and legal requirements are met.
* Risk Management – Identify and flag potential issues in documentation or processes that may pose compliance risks.
Key Skills & experience:
* Legal Background – Minimum of 3-4 year's of experience in a legal environment, ideally as a barrister, junior solicitor, or strong legal executive.
* Familiarity with Land Law – Experience with land law, property law, or real estate legal matters.
* CPO Experience – Prior exposure to CPO processes, compulsory acquisition, or related regulatory work.
* Candidates with strong research and analytical skills, particularly in legal documentation, will be well-suited to the role.
* This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a legal background and a strong ability to manage documentation efficiently.
