We currently have an opportunity to work within our Orchard Residential Care team for a Behavioural Specialist on a permanent basis.
As Behavioural Specialist, you will have a key role in the delivery of effective, high quality, team based, and clinical support to the people we care for. Working within our Residential team, you will provide these supports for young people who have experienced complex trauma.
Reporting directly to the Director of Service, the successful candidate will work with our Managers and other multi-disciplinary team members, to enable people we support to achieve their full potential and build a brighter future.
The role is a full time post (hybrid working model), involving travel to our homes across the region including Leitrim, Cavan, Sligo & Roscommon.
The role will include:
1. Completing comprehensive functional behavioural assessments.
2. Developing appropriate interventions.
3. Supporting intervention implementation via evidence-based training strategies and support to staff teams.
4. Employing data-based decision making to review and modify interventions as required.
5. Delivering training to staff teams and motivate and collaborate with them.
6. Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings and annual reviews for the people we support.
Essential Criteria for this post:
1. MSc. in Applied Behaviour Analysis or Positive Behaviour Support.
2. Minimum one years’ experience in a behaviour support role, with relevant experience in conducting assessments and developing related interventions.
3. Experience of providing relevant behavioural support to adults and/or children in a similar setting for the relevant role.
4. Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), or, Irish Society of Behaviour Analysis (ISBA), or full membership of Division of Behaviour Analysis with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
5. Must have a full clean driver’s license (with eligibility to drive in Ireland) and use of a car.
6. Must have valid Garda Clearance and valid Overseas Clearance (if applicant lived abroad for more than 6 months).
Desirable criteria:
1. Primary Degree in Psychology.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in behaviour support roles.
