Junior Continuous Improvement Specialist (Lean/Business Excellence)
This is a role for somebody who is self-driven, with a passion for Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Business Excellence.
Responsibilities
* Providing support in the area of operational excellence and continuously improving the LEAN maturity of the site you will support
* Contributing to the development of strategy focused on embedding a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across the Tirln business
* Ensuring that the site daily management system (3 M), KPI reviews and continuous improvement forums are embedded at all levels of the site
* Lead the RCA process and ensure its effectiveness in the elimination of waste in the site processes
* Couching and mentoring of employees at all levels in the use of LEAN systems & tools
* Facilitating the development, implementation & governance of business process improvement projects
* Recognising the importance of budget targets, constantly strive to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through a detailed knowledge of the process and a continuous goal of eliminating waste
* Communicating and engaging with people at all levels within the business in order to promote awareness and engagement
* Ensuring that the Business Excellence approach remains fully integrated into the business strategy
* Facilitating structured problem solving as well as training & mentoring site leadership team to embed root cause analysis in all areas
Requirements
* Third level qualification or relevant experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Improvement, Product development or Project Management
* In depth understanding of lean systems with hands on experience utilizing lean tools in an effective manner
* Knowledge of the Shingo model of operational excellence an advantage
* Experience in Change Management and/or Project Management an advantage
* Lean six sigma green belt or black belt certified a distinct advantage
* Proven track record of delivery of projects within tight time frames
* Experience working with cross functional teams
* Experience in dealing with cultural change at all levels
* Previous experience of training/facilitating groups is a distinct advantage
* Self-confident with the ability to promote a new way of thinking
* Highly motivated and self-driven
* Excellent influencing skills
