About the Organisation:
The client provides a broad spectrum of professional services focused on the development, operation, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and properties within the healthcare sector in the Cork/Kerry region. This includes project management, technical and property services, fire safety, and more, supporting all stages from procurement to maintenance.
About the Role:
Please note that this is a specified purpose contract envisioned to last initially for 12 months. This role is based onsite in Cork/Kerry.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering technical and project management services within the organization, supporting various building and refurbishment projects. The post holder will report to the Engineering Manager and is tasked with managing the development, execution, and completion of various estate and property projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Project Preparation and Management
* Develop comprehensive project briefs with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and that the project brief is fully communicated.
* Oversee selection and management of design teams, contractors, and service providers.
* Establish action plans, coordinate project stages, and manage budgets and timelines.
* Supervise staff and contractors, resolving issues to keep the project on track.
Project Execution and Tender Management
* Oversee minor capital works by preparing plans, appointing design teams, and managing tenders.
* Ensure all project stages are executed according to timelines and within budget.
Maintenance and Budget Planning
* Define maintenance requirements for buildings, equipment, and vehicles.
* Develop and budget for maintenance programs, allocate resources, and plan staffing.
Compliance and Safety
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in planning, maintenance, and operations.
* Coordinate fire safety and energy efficiency measures, working with Fire Officers and Services Managers.
Property Management
* Support the Property Manager in developing and implementing property management strategies.
* Assist in maintaining the property asset register and ensure statutory compliance of property transactions.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Management
* Advise on Health & Safety and environmental compliance in facilities.
* Support energy-saving projects and report on energy consumption across facilities.
Required Qualifications:
* Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Architecture, Engineering or Surveying accredited by the relevant Professional Institute (Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Engineers Ireland, Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland).
Or
* Have Full Membership of the relevant professional association: Society of Chartered, Surveyors in Ireland, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Engineers Ireland, Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.
Or
* Hold a qualification at least equivalent to one of the above listed.
And
* 7 years+ of relevant experience in planning, design, project management or construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and heating services of such buildings to include ICT Wiring and containment.
