As a founding member of our brand-new 5th studio, you will influence the creation of a world-class team and their debut title. The Lead Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing systems and game code.
Responsibilities:
1. Leads code team, passing on experience and expertise and leads by example.
2. Develops technical design specifications for complex projects and implements them.
3. Designs, develops, writes, tests and implements systems and game code.
4. Works with designers, artists and other personnel involved in the development process as required to create the highest possible quality product.
5. Tests and refines gameplay features throughout the development cycle of the project.
6. Mentors and conducts regular one to ones with project engineering team.
7. Estimates own tasks and delivers high quality code to that schedule.
8. Performs code reviews with the team to ensure code quality.
9. Able to communicate effectively with our clients and maintain strong relationships with them.
Requirements:
1. Proficient in C/C++ with a minimum of 6 years experience.
2. 5 years experience working in the video games industry.
3. 4 years experience in console or mobile programming.
4. Worked on at least 2 shipped games.
We are seeking applicants based in, or who are able to relocate to, the Dublin area.
