Financial Controller
Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner exclusively with a large prestigious private members' golf club in South Dublin to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a hands-on role managing the club's finance function, offering an opportunity to work in an evolving professional, respectful, and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the General Manager, the Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations, including:
* Managing the club's accounting systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, membership ledger, fixed asset register, and payroll.
* Preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the Finance Committee and Management Board.
* Producing monthly investment reports and liaising with investment fund advisors.
* Developing and managing the annual operational and capital expenditure budget in collaboration with the General Manager, Heads of Department, and Finance Committee.
* Overseeing capital expenditure processes with strong cost control measures.
* Maintaining a 10-year rolling capital expenditure budget.
* Preparing annual audited financial statements and managing the audit process.
* Handling VAT returns and liaising with Revenue.
* Managing insurance renewals and pension fund provider relations.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a qualified accountant with hands-on experience in managing the finance function of a small to medium-sized business, not-for-profit organisation, or sports/leisure club. A strong understanding of how decisions are made within a club environment is highly desirable.
This role is ideal for someone with some experience as a Financial Controller who is looking to further develop in that direction, or an experienced Financial Accountant seeking to enhance the strategic aspect of their career with the goal of becoming a Financial Controller.
