Job Summary:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring their maintenance, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. This role involves optimizing fleet operations, managing costs, supervising drivers, and implementing safety measures to improve overall performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fleet Operations Management:
1. Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of fleet vehicles.
2. Ensure optimal utilization and efficiency of all company vehicles.
3. Monitor vehicle tracking systems and telematics for performance and safety.
2. Maintenance & Compliance:
1. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of fleet management software and telematics systems.
4. Understanding of vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and logistics.
5. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
6. Ability to analyze data and optimize fleet performance.
Preferred Skills:
1. Certification in fleet management.
2. Experience in budgeting and cost control.
3. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
4. Primarily office-based with regular visits to fleet maintenance facilities.
5. Some travel may be required for vehicle inspections and supplier meetings.
The remunerating package, including salary and benefits, is negotiable depending on experience. The package may include the following:
