Diagnostics Department
Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week – Temporary Fixed Term 18 Months
Cork Centre, Saint Finbarr’s Hospital, Douglas Road, Cork
The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, temporary, Medical Laboratory Aide based in the Diagnostics Department, Cork Centre.
Essential Criteria:
* Qualification - Leaving Certificate or equivalent with a science subject
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
* Computer literacy with good keyboard skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* The ability to work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team
* Good attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Desirable Criteria:
* Hold a qualification to minimum standard of Quality & Qualifications Ireland level 5 (or higher) in Laboratory Skills
* Have previous experience of work in a hospital laboratory or science laboratory.
* Experience in record keeping and data management.
The salary scale attached to the post is the Medical Laboratory Aide scale €39,710 to €46,588 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum. Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience.

* A citizen of United Kingdom (UK)
* A citizen of Switzerland in regards to the agreement between the EU and Switzerland on the movement of people
* A non-EEA citizen who has a stamp 4 visa
* A person awarded international protection under the International Protection Act 2015, or any family member entitled to remain in the State as a result of family reunification and has a stamp 4 visa.
* A non-EEA citizen who is a parent of a dependant child who is a citizen of and resident in an EEA member state if the UK or Switzerland and has a stamp 4 visa.
To qualify candidates must meet one of the citizenship criteria above and produce formal supporting evidence of same, by the date of any job offer.
