Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Sustainable Biosystems Engineering within UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering.
The UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent teaching programmes.
The school has an acknowledged international track record of research achievement across major fields including Food and Bioprocess Engineering, Biosystems Analysis and Modelling, Agricultural and Environmental Technologies, Energy and the Circular Bioeconomy, with Sustainability as a focal point.
The School now wishes to recruit an Assistant Professor in Sustainable Biosystems Engineering who will play a key role in the development and delivery of the School's taught and research programmes.
Important domains include systems thinking, Life cycle analysis, and sustainable food systems engineering.
Applicants with experience in applying engineering principles to analyse and solve problems for sustainable biosystems with a focus on the circular Bioeconomy, sustainable food systems and green technologies are particularly invited to apply.
The successful candidate will hold a primary degree in Engineering and a PhD in Biosystems Engineering or cognate discipline.
As part of their application, applicants are requested to submit: - A 2-page research statement, outlining their proposed 5-year research plan.
- A 2-page teaching statement, outlining their planned approach to teaching and module development for sustainable systems engineering education.
95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above the Bar (7943) Salary Scale: €62,855 - €99,533 Per Annum Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on the 5th of March 2025.
