We are seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of networking, virtualization, and IT infrastructure management. Support and maintain our systems, networks, and communication tools, ensuring they operate optimally and securely. The role includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd level IT support, project management, and the ability to work in dynamic environments. The Network Administrator reports to the IT Manager and is responsible for providing a smooth-running infrastructure to ensure business continuity.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and maintain network systems, administer Active Directory, ensuring proper access and permissions. Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies - Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VLAN’s, VoIP
Experience with virtualization technologies, oversee VMware, ESXi servers, and virtual machine infrastructure.
Managing Windows and Linux server environment (80-20%)
Experience with Server and Service Disaster Recovery Processes, perform regular backups and recovery processes using Veeam Backup Solutions.
Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd level IT support to internal users for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices including office and factory floor. (approx. 250 users)
Support VoIP systems and mobile phone configurations.
IT project management experience with small and medium-sized projects.
Manage and work closely with IT support specialist to ensure seamless operations.
Provide emergency out-of-hours support as required.
Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including the racking and stacking of servers (ability to handle heavy equipment).
Perform troubleshooting and maintenance for both hardware and software-related issues.
Ensure system security by working closely with group, implementing other protective measures.
Collaborate with IT, project management teams, and relevant departments to ensure the system aligns with business needs.
Hardware/software maintenance and procurement, management of IT inventory.
Work closely with vendors and service providers to ensure system support and upgrades are executed properly.
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES:
Attention to detail is crucial for ensuring system integrity and troubleshooting effectiveness.
Hands-on with a solid technical aptitude, good people skills and the ability to work in a team, working closely with IT support specialist.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
A can-do attitude with the ability to tackle challenges proactively and maintain a positive approach to problem-solving.
Experience in network replacement and design (fibre and Cat6) is highly advantageous.
Previous ServiceNow CRM exposure is a plus.
Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels relevant to professional needs.
Very High Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities with a can-do attitude.
REQUIREMENTS:
CompTIA Network+, CCNP, MCSE certification or equivalent.
Prince2 or PMP certification in project management is desirable.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Networking, VMware, ESXi, and Veeam.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, O365, VLAN’s, DNS, and DHCP.
Experience with VoIP technologies and mobile device support.
Experience working with and troubleshooting networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
Familiarity with IT security best practices.
Ability to handle heavy equipment for hardware installation (racking and stacking).
Ability to work with ladders and other tools for physical installation.
Must hold a current valid driving licence in Ireland.
