Responsibilities:
1. Lead and oversee the financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger.
2. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with Irish GAAP or IFRS.
3. Develop, manage, and monitor budgets and forecasts to support strategic business objectives.
4. Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior management.
5. Ensure accurate cash flow management and optimize the utilization of company resources.
6. Lead the preparation for and coordination with external auditors during annual audits.
7. Mentor and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration.
8. Stay informed on regulatory and industry changes, ensuring compliance with financial and legal standards.
9. Oversee financial management of third-party suppliers and year-end accounting processes.
10. Utilize and recommend advanced accounting technologies to streamline processes.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years in a senior financial role, preferably within the agency, events, or hospitality industry.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
3. Expertise in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Thesaurus, or QuickBooks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
4. Demonstrated ability in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
5. Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
7. A meticulous approach to work, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
8. Proven experience managing and mentoring teams in a dynamic environment.
9. Experience in the events or marketing industry and familiarity with payroll processing or internal controls.
