Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) – Construction Safety
EHS International is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) to join our client’s team for a major construction project in Munster. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a pivotal role in ensuring health and safety compliance at the design stage of a significant development.
As the PSDP, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing health and safety aspects of the design process, ensuring compliance with Irish legislation under the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. The successful candidate will work closely with designers, engineers, and contractors to minimize risks and implement best practices for a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and ensure that all design risks are identified and mitigated.
* Coordinate with designers, architects, and engineers to integrate safety measures into the project.
* Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety laws, particularly the Construction Regulations 2013.
* Prepare and maintain the Safety File for the project.
* Communicate and collaborate with the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS).
* Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and advise on best safety practices.
* Conduct safety audits and inspections throughout the design process.
* Provide regular reports to the client on safety compliance and risk management.
Requirements:
* Relevant qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Health & Safety, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a PSDP or similar role within the construction industry.
* Thorough understanding of Irish construction safety regulations.
* Experience in design risk assessment and safety compliance.
* Strong communication and leadership skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
* Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH, CIF, Engineers Ireland) is an advantage.
* Ability to work independently and proactively manage safety aspects of complex projects.
