Health & Safety Manager
Vickerstock is partnering with a food manufacturing firm to fill this key role.
About the Role:
* Ensure all site personnel adhere to Safe Systems of Work and comply with relevant legislation.
* Promote a strong Health & Safety culture and drive behavioural change.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Manage health and safety budgets.
* Oversee the site's health and safety program, ensuring legal compliance and ongoing improvement.
* Maintain up-to-date risk assessments and safe work systems.
* Conduct specialized risk assessments to mitigate risks in line with standards and requirements.
* Evaluate and provide appropriate training and safety measures.
* Prepare health and safety reports and lead monthly management review meetings.
* Support maintenance teams to ensure statutory inspections and safe machinery use.
* Assist in monitoring on-site contractors and controlling the Permit to Work System.
* Oversee emergency procedures and site fire safety arrangements.
* Monitor and report incidents classified under RIDDOR.
* Perform business risk analysis and approve site-related risk assessments.
* Assist in sourcing training and deliver in-house health and safety programs.
* Monitor compliance and conduct audits.
* Lead communications with external authorities.
* Implement and investigate accidents/incidents to identify root causes.
You'll Need:
* NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
* At least 3 years of experience in Health & Safety Management within a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in NI and ROI.
* Background in managing health and safety in multi-site organisations.
* Demonstrated ability in influencing, coaching, communication, and time management.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Desirable:
* FMCG experience preferred.
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
