Are you an experienced manager who would be able to take our Dublin office to the next level? Your primary objective would be to lead and inspire a small team to ensure that you achieve your financial objectives. You will need to own and develop strong strategic relationships with global and local clients as well as other offices and verticals within the business.
The role involves managing a small freight forwarding office with huge potential to expand and develop. You will have the proactive task of increasing revenue generation through current customers as well as business development to the wider market. You will actively participate in, and contribute to, Company leadership and management initiatives to improve performance and productivity levels. You will provide support for business development activities for the branch in collaboration with the sales team and have overall ownership of the branch P&L. This role would suit someone with a flair for entrepreneurial imagination, who wants to progress their career with a new and exciting challenge.
You will be responsible for:
Operations:
Overview of all branch operations, to ensure compliance with the Company’s Operating Procedures.
Ensure effective and efficient use of Systems including CargoWise, Adaptive, Workday, PowerBI etc.
Monitoring KPI’s such as Task Adoption, Margin Management, Billing Velocity.
Ensure compliance of all country regulations by remaining up-to-date of freight forwarding and customs laws.
Ensure that operations and commercial teams are focussed and targeted in line with branch metrics and KPI deliverables.
Actively engage with our Quality Management System to ensure compliance with Industry leading standards, such as AEO and ISO
Deal with escalations as necessary
Sales, Marketing and Business Development:
Work to expand our presence and ensure OIA Global is a key forwarder within the market.
Be aware of potential customers and look for opportunities to develop the business.
Maintain & develop existing business relationships.
Work with the Sales team to develop new business through communication with potential clients (visit or telephone).
Ensure effective negotiation on price to maximise profitability.
Maintain awareness of forwarding and logistics markets– including potential new investments, key customers and competition in your area.
Leverage OIA's networking platforms to create new opportunities.
Have overview of quote conversions and competitiveness for quotations.
Customer Service:
Ensure good relationships between customers, colleagues and third parties to support operational excellence and adherence to deadlines.
Maintain regular reviews with customers to gather feedback on customer service and develop opportunities for growth.
Be proactive when faced with problems.
Ensure team activities reflect your high level of customer service.
Create a culture of excellence in the way your teams behave towards customers
Strategy:
Prepare and submit written Management Reports for the Executive group and Chair the monthly Dashboard call for your country.
Be visible and contribute positively to global & regional initiatives and activities.
Maintain a high standard of credibility and representation for the Country in supporting, active participation, contribution, and execution of the company’s business strategy.
Work with the Regional Manager to develop and implement the Annual Business Plan and Growth strategies.

Previous experience working in a management capacity within freight forwarding.

Excellent leadership qualities and demonstrable strong work ethic.
