Moulding Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Moulding Engineer to join our Medical Device company in Leitrim. The successful candidate will provide expertise in polymer processing, tooling, and engineering for various products and materials.
* Develop innovative engineering technologies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness in moulding processes and equipment.
* Collaborate with customers, toolmakers, and R&D/NPI personnel to specify mould tools and materials.
* Provide technical support for production and maintenance activities.
* Train and mentor technicians and operators on moulding techniques.
* Participate in process improvement activities to optimize quality and performance.
* Support the quotation team in mould tool and assembly activities.
* Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the work area.
* Ensure compliance with company quality system requirements.
* Plan and execute projects to meet project timelines, quality, and cost targets.
* Engage in Corrective/Preventative actions to address quality, technical, and manufacturing issues.
* Liaise with the operations team to ensure manufacturing and R&D/NPI activities meet required standards.
* Develop moulding processes using scientific injection moulding techniques.
* Frequent travel to suppliers, toolmakers, and customers may be required.
* Adhere to plant safety and health & safety requirements.
* Aware of potential environmental impacts and implications of non-conformance.
* Contribute to energy conservation efforts.
* Participate in OH&S, Environmental, and Energy Management systems improvements.
Requirements:
* Third-level engineering qualification (Bachelor's Degree) in Polymer, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Significant experience (15 years+) may be considered in lieu of minimum qualification.
* Associate position may exist for limited experience, with guidance from an experienced Engineer.
* Senior position may exist for 5+ years experience.
* Experience in injection moulding, mould tooling, materials, ancillary equipment, and repair/maintenance.
* Familiarity with medical device environment, including clean room manufacture, validations, process controls, etc.
