PepsiCo is on the lookout for a Strategic Manufacturing Solutions Engineer to join our global engineering function based in Cork.
We are the concentrate business in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up, and Pepsi. Reporting to the Senior Global Design Manager, this is a central global role based in Ireland.
This role is responsible for providing a critical analysis of capacity requirements across PGCS and, in collaboration with supply chain and operations, to develop optimized end-to-end solutions to deliver the correct operational solution to address the needs of the business.
This role will be responsible for planning for future capacity needs, identifying capital requirements, optimizing existing capacity, and ensuring a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is in place for all products across PGCS.
Responsibilities
* Lead the critical analysis of capacities and, in collaboration with supply chain and operations, develop optimized end-to-end solutions.
* Understand baseline plant capabilities and identify potential solutions to hot spots identified during the capacity analysis.
* Lead & develop new and optimized solutions to deliver the growth agenda.
* Review and assess changes to capacity and develop end-to-end engineering solutions to optimize the existing asset base.
* Translate supply chain requirements (Capacity/Capability and BCP) into executable projects to address manufacturing gaps.
* Optimize the selection of the site and equipment needed to support changes in capacity.
* Identify equipment and changes to plant configuration to enable increase/decrease in capacity.
* Lead & support the business case development for capital driven by growth, sugar reduction, and innovation.
* Ensure plant capabilities can deliver the BCP objectives.
* Work with R&D to develop innovative solutions to deliver the future growth agenda.
* Support the LAMASOFT model and assumptions for model parameters.
* Develop and leverage best practices from PepsiCo divisions as well as from other industries to deliver world-class performance in plant and equipment design.
* Responsible for the capacity solutions needed to deliver the business needs.
* Provide technical guidance to the design teams.
Qualifications
Min 8/10 years process industry experience in engineering with additional operations or maintenance exposure and extensive capital project management experience.
* Degree qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent.
* Extensive experience required in the following areas: Process plant technical standards, Project concept development, Business case and capital approval, Design, Procurement and Installation.
* Experience in Construction, Commissioning, and Validation.
* Environmental, health, and safety management.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work at all levels in an international organization.
* Change management advocacy.
* Proven experience delivering the design aspect of large/complex capital projects in a global and diverse environment, extensive experience in concentrate manufacturing engineering, and a track record of influencing a complex matrix of stakeholders to deliver a design to the highest standard.
* This role requires significant technical competency in the engineering field and the ability to influence key stakeholders to drive change in operational methods and the ability to manage teams of contractors and staff to deliver projects to a high standard within committed budget and schedule.
* Extensive experience required in the following areas: Concentrate business, Multi-plant exposure, Process plant technical standards, Project concept development, Business case and capital approval, Equipment design and optimization.
