To ensure we are capturing value and to achieve profitable growth, we are looking for a Commercial Product Engineer who can help drive automotive commercial strategy in a cross functional structure and work with customers to execute the strategy. This role will report into the Commercial Marketing Director.
Responsibilities
1. Work with each Business Unit leader to understand and implement pricing strategies to deliver on the BU’s financial goals.
2. Work in a fast paced and complex cross functional environment across the organization, customers, and partners.
3. Be involved and help drive Annual Price Negotiation (APN) process for major Automotive customers with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Articulate value adds of Commercial Marketing activities and have a solution mind set to solve customer problems.
5. Help to negotiate and execute commercial agreements such as Supply Agreements, MOU’s, etc.
6. Build strong connections with customer facing team (Account Management, Global Account Management, Sales Leadership, Customer, etc) to help execute commercial strategy.
7. Develop working knowledge on pricing systems (ModelN, etc) to ensure that business needs are incorporate into system development and manage escalations (when needed).
Requirements
8. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, etc) or equivalent
9. 5+ years in a commercial role preferred.
10. Negotiation in a customer facing role preferred.
11. Superior oral and written communication skills.
12. Problem-solving skill set.
13. Self-motivated, thorough, autonomous, and driven to continually improve.
14. Superior cross functional networking skills.
15. Ability to see big picture and business strategy.
16. Data analysis experience preferred, can be Excel (experience with Pivot tables), PowerBI, etc.
17. Comfortable presenting to senior management and executives.
