Job Summary
The ideal candidate will provide direct care to assigned patients, conducting thorough nursing histories and identifying nursing diagnoses and patient care needs. They will observe and record patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status, communicating assessments and proposing care revisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Direct Patient Care:
o Deliver direct care to assigned patients.
o Conduct nursing history, summarize data, and identify nursing diagnoses and patient care needs.
o Observe and record patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status; communicate assessments and propose care revisions.
* Clinical Responsibilities:
o Adhere to The Professional Scope of Practice Framework 2000 (Nursing & Midwife Board of Ireland).
o Evaluate individual patient assessments, care plans, and evaluations in place.
o Involves patients' families and significant others as appropriate.
* Managerial Responsibilities:
o Identify and communicate issues to the Nurse Manager promptly.
o Demonstrate confidence and competence in hospital policies and guidelines.
o Efficiently record necessary documentation.
* Personal and Professional Responsibilities:
o Maintain a professional portfolio.
o Utilize opportunities to educate patients and their families.
o Attend relevant study days and courses.
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse license in good standing with the Nursing & Midwife Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Preferably 1 year of post-nursing registration experience.
* Oncology experience is preferred.
