Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are hiring for a Ruminant Business Manager in the Cork Region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading organisation in the agricultural sector. As Ruminant Business Manager, you will report to the Area Manager and play a key role in supporting and growing relationships with a portfolio of farmers. Acting as the main point of contact between the client and its customers, you will provide practical on-farm solutions, expert advice, and commercial support across feed, fertiliser, animal health, and other farm inputs. This role combines strong sales and account management with a focus on delivering value-added services that promote farm profitability, sustainability, and product quality. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain trusted relationships with a portfolio of farmers, understanding their operational needs and business goals. Provide tailored advice across areas such as feed, fertiliser, animal health, dairy hygiene, and more. Support farmers with technical guidance and liaise with specialist teams where additional input is required. Interpret and communicate soil and forage analysis results, including nutrient management planning. Keep CRM systems up to date with farm data, sales opportunities, service issues, and other key metrics. Process orders accurately and ensure timely delivery in line with agreed service levels. Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to help shape and promote products and services. Promote and drive uptake of farm schemes and promotional campaigns. Manage monthly account reconciliations and cash collection processes. Represent the client at local and regional events and engage with representative structures. Work closely with local retail branches to ensure a seamless customer experience across all service channels. What Youll Need: A degree in Agricultural Science or a related field is advantageous but not essential. Solid understanding of animal health and farm input products. Proven experience in agricultural sales, with a strong focus on customer service. In-depth knowledge of the local agricultural market and farming practices. Competence in Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems such as SAP (training will be provided). Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships based on trust and expertise.
