Logistics Project Manager
We are seeking a Logistics Project Manager to join our team at {company}. This is a brand new role within the business, offering ambitious team members the opportunity to take on new challenges and increase their scope of responsibilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the pre-construction process, developing logistics plans to demonstrate project delivery to key stakeholders and to optimise operations where projects are being constructed adjacent to each other.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop logistics plans to demonstrate project delivery to key stakeholders
* Contribute to the preparation of the Project Execution Plan with particular focus on logistical planning, environmental and waste management, labour & plant resourcing and the project preliminary book
* Effectively manage the movement of labour, machinery and materials on and off site through site coordination & logistics software
* Maintain a secure and safe site through effective Health & Safety practices
* Identify site-specific hazards and ensure they are raised to site Health and Safety Personnel
* Always seek to improve the standard of Health & Safety on projects
* Be the main point of contact for site supervisors to ensure the effective and safe flow of materials through the site & distributed accordingly
* Identify and address skills shortages in the wider delivery team
* Liaise with the subcontractors and security team to ensure safe deliveries to site in accordance with the Project Execution Plan
* Appointed person for people, plant, segregation, logistics, security and the project's public interface
* Engage with management teams to ensure delivery protocols are understood and implemented across multiple projects
* Oversight of waste management, seeking to optimise operations across multiple projects and seeking waste reduction across all work streams
* Oversee the logistical operation of mobile & tower crane erection, operation and disassembly
* Provide leadership and management to the project construction team to drive high performance, employee development and learning, ensuring also that the required resources are in place to support the construction team
Requirements:
* Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent; 7+ years post-qualification experience
* Proven Experience in a similar role, delivering comparable projects
* Extensive experience in a similar role with a developer or main contractor
* Background in large scale mixed residential or commercial construction
* Good spoken and written communication skills
* Methodical, excellent attention to detail with excellent coordination skills
* Understanding of building sequencing and appreciation of keeping the site moving
* Experience in crane setup desired - erection of mobile crane & tower crane
* To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team
* Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
* An Ability to co-ordinate several different priorities at the same time
* Willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks
This is a full-time position with a salary of approximately €90,000 per year, based on location and industry standards. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and communication skills, as well as experience in logistics planning, health and safety, and project management.
