Automation Engineer - Pharmaceuticals
A leading pharmaceutical company in Dublin is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale project with cutting-edge technology. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Building Automation System (BAS) and other Utility Automation Control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and maintain the BAS (Siemens DesigoCC) and other Utility Automation Control systems.
* Participate in upgrade projects to ensure smooth system operations.
* Provide troubleshooting and hands-on support to resolve technical issues.
* Schedule and coordinate work to meet tight deadlines.
* Ensure that equipment operates within its specified parameters.
* Develop and execute test procedures and automation change controls.
* Collaborate with installation/project engineers to achieve project objectives.
* Supervise engineering, vendors, and technical staff to guarantee successful project outcomes.
* Write comprehensive reports and documentation.
* Create work instructions for maintenance and operative staff.
* Enforce safe working conditions and practices.
* Train maintenance and operative staff where necessary.
* Attend Software Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Testing events.
* Maintain and develop change control systems to ensure optimal system performance.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in providing Building Automation / Building Management system solutions and support to manufacturing organizations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
* Experience in project delivery and operations support.
* Familiarity with Air Handling Units (AHU) / HVAC and other critical utility systems such as cooling towers, compressors.
