As a senior data architect, the selected candidate will provide strategic consultancy, advisory, and governance on the delivery of complex, strategic & impactful solutions for many household names in the private & public sector.Career development is key at Ergo. As a leader, alongside strong development experience, you will lead technical teams and be responsible for the quality of technical assets (e.g. codebase) and meeting customers’ needs. Focus will lean heavily, but not exclusively, on the Microsoft data and BI stack.You will be responsible for articulating the opportunity and the value data can bring in ways understood by all stakeholders - both business and technical, and for facilitating the analysis and design of data solutions that impact users.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and articulate the value an organisation can gain from their data in line with their business goals.Own and take responsibility for design and development (including code development, testing, and defect resolution) of data solutions as a team lead.Hands-on development of data solution components.Lead on identifying functional, technical, and non-functional requirements related to data solutions (across engineering, analytics, and data science), translating these into user stories so they are easily understood across the whole team.Responsible for performance management, cost optimisation, and execution of unit and integration testing for data pipelines and reports.Advise customers and team members on estimated effort and technical implications of user stories and user journeys.Responsible for the breakdown of an area of work from inception through to delivery, managing the team’s backlog ensuring quality and maturity.Manage key customer relationships with decision makers including CxO, throughout project delivery.Familiar with trends in data science and engineering, including techniques, competitors, partners, and technology trends.Expertise in continuous improvement and sharing input on data best practices.Education, Qualifications and SkillsThird level qualification in a related discipline or equivalent experience.7+ years’ experience in data role(s).Development experience with Microsoft (Azure) technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BI or any relevant ETL tools.Microsoft Fabric or Databricks expertise is highly desirable.Experience working for a technology partner or consulting organisation is highly desirable.Experience leading technical teams (engineers, analysts, architects) in the design and implementation of data-intensive systems.Expert in SQL or SQL extensions for analytical use cases.Expert understanding of distributed data stores and data processing frameworks.Ability to simply and clearly communicate technical design both written and verbally.Proficient in designing analytical and operational data models.Data Architecture, Engineering, or Analytics background with an understanding of modern enterprise architecture patterns. Track record in delivering data-oriented solutions including data warehousing, operational insight, data management, or business intelligence.
