The Organisation:
The Dublin Well Woman Centre is a leading provider of women’s health, sexual health and family planning services in the greater Dublin area. We pride ourselves on particular expertise in women’s sexual health, and on the high level of service we provide to our clients.
We are currently recruiting 2 Full Time Clinic Nurses. The positions are for our Dublin City Centre Clinic and our Coolock Clinic, located in Northside Shopping Centre.

Clinic Nurse
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week. The clinics are open Monday to Saturday and the Clinic Nurse will be required to work 5 days per week, which includes 1 late night opening plus 2 Saturdays per month.
Function:
Effective and professional nursing functions in the Dublin Well Woman Centre.
Reporting to:
The Operations Manager / Medical Director.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
The Clinic Nurse will ensure the smooth and effective delivery of high-quality patient services. The Clinic Nurse will also work in conjunction with Dublin Well Woman doctors seeing patients in clinics, and will administer tests (including blood tests, STI tests, and cervical smears) to patients. Monitor Cervical Check results and liaise with colposcopy units regarding patient referrals.
The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse (either to SRN or degree level) or midwife with experience in sexual health, cervical screening and family planning, and with strong computer skills.
Our nurses run their own 3 hour booked clinics, with doctor back up available at all times, if needed. There are dedicated blocks of time to do referrals and discuss results with patients.
There will be an initial period of training provided in the Liffey Street, Dublin 1 clinic for the successful candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take medical histories, examine and advise patients who are attending for contraceptive information.
2. Perform cervical smear testing and advise patients re cancer screening, to include arranging any colposcopy appointments as may be required.
3. Take blood test/swabs for STI screening as per clinic protocol.
4. Take blood tests as prearranged by doctors.
5. Perform pregnancy tests and advise clients of outcome.
6. Perform additional clinical functions, such as cryotherapy and Depo Provera injections.
7. Operate the patient management system used for patient records and medical results.
8. Ensure clinic administration runs smoothly, including preparing all samples, swabs, smears, for collection by courier, and ensuring all samples, swabs, smears and bloods are sent to the relevant testing site.
9. Co-ordinate results of tests and follow up with patients regarding results.
10. Autoclave instruments and stock up clinic rooms in preparation for the next clinic.
11. Notify Operations Manager when drugs and pharmaceutical supplies are running low.
12. Ensure the centre has a well-equipped and in-date Emergency Tray.
13. Maintain Information Point / Display Area, ensuring availability of leaflets, etc.
14. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director or Operations Manager.
