Canal Express Coffee Shop is open all day, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With the right input, it has the potential to attract even more clientele and provide guests with a unique dining experience.
Epic Restaurant, known for its wholesome breakfasts and versatility in hosting events, is set for a refresh with renovations planned. It's the perfect space to introduce innovative and seasonal menu ideas.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of quality, service, and presentation.
* Manage and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
* Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to uphold consistent quality.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of creative, innovative menus.
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations regarding allergens.
* Ensure compliance with HACCP and all health & safety standards in the kitchen.
* Support the Head Chef in inventory management, stock ordering, and cost control.
* Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence.
The Ideal Candidate
* Prior experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a hotel or high-volume environment.
* A proven track record of managing and motivating kitchen teams effectively.
* Strong culinary creativity and a passion for high-quality, innovative food.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
* A comprehensive understanding of allergen management and food labeling practices.
* A solid understanding of HACCP and food safety compliance.
* A professional culinary qualification or equivalent training.
* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
* Full fluency in English and availability for full-time, flexible shifts.
* A commitment to continuous learning and development within the culinary field.
