The Senior Designer is responsible for the design and implementation of interior projects for the Doyle Collection. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of architecture and interior design and the ability to manage projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement interior design concepts for new and existing properties, working closely with the leadership team to understand business needs and nuances.
2. Manage all aspects of interior projects, including pre-works, budgeting, and scheduling while maintaining a clear focus on luxury standards.
3. Work alongside architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
4. Select and purchase furniture, fixtures, and equipment, negotiating the best possible value with suppliers.
5. Oversee the installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring correct and safe installation.
6. Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure they are maintained in good condition and take steps to repair or replace any damaged items.
7. Ensure that every guest is captivated by the luxurious and beautifully maintained interior design throughout the hotel.
8. Build strong relationships with the maintenance team for effective collaboration.
Key Skills & Experience:
1. Strong understanding of the principles of interior design, including colour theory, space planning, and furniture selection.
2. Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule management.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy of execution.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
7. Experience in the luxury hospitality industry is preferable.
8. 5-7 years of work experience in interior design.
9. Strong knowledge of suppliers, industry developments, and trends.
10. Experience preparing professional concepts for clients, including mood boards and design details.
11. Strong experience in custom furniture design.
12. Excellent 2D drawing skills (Vectorworks) and digital skills (Adobe CS, particularly InDesign and Photoshop).
13. 3D skills (Vectorworks/SketchUp/hand sketches).
14. Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
15. London-based with the ability to travel internationally.
