Job Title: Dental Nurse
We are seeking a qualified Dental Nurse to join our team in the Clare/Limerick area.
About the Role:
* To support dental surgeons, orthodontists, and hygienists by preparing instruments for procedures.
* To manage appointments and record patient notes as directed.
* Maintain accurate records and reports regarding patient care.
* To provide a welcoming experience for patients and deal with queries.
* Participate in ongoing training programs and oral health promotion activities.
* Provide education and information to patients as needed.
* Maintain professional behavior and respect patient privacy.
* Report clinical issues and be flexible with working hours.
* Ensure equipment is clean and safe to use.
* Aware of responsibilities for own and others' health and safety at work.
* Implement infection prevention and control guidelines.
* Adhere to national and local Health Service Executive (HSE) guidelines.
* Work within scope of practice and develop competence necessary for professional practice.
* Aware of ethical policies and procedures.
* Safeguard and manage records according to HSE/local policy and legislation.
* Contribute to monitoring, audit, and evaluation of the service.
* Participate in policy development and staff meetings.
* Accurately record and report complaints.
* Be aware of clinical governance principles and take responsibility for risk management and health and safety issues.
* Adhere to organisational dress code.
* Complete mandatory training as deemed necessary.
* Participate in performance evaluation and review.
* Work closely with colleagues to provide seamless service delivery.
* Undertake other duties as required.
* Aware of Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards and comply with associated protocols.
* Support sustainable energy, water, and waste initiatives.
* Ensure records are safeguarded and managed according to HSE/local policy and legislation.
* Participate in clinical audit and review.
* Maintain professional standards including patient and data confidentiality.
* Assist with ordering supplies and exercise economy in their use.
* As a Designated Officer under the Protection for Persons Reporting Child Abuse Act 1998, you will receive full information on your responsibilities on appointment.
